EVERYTHING HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE JUST NOT BY US starts out as a gallery-style dance history solo research project and transforms into a dance history group mash up of aesthetics, ideas, form, functions and performativities. Every step, structure, sound and shape you see is a reference, citation, quote, version, homage, interpretation of something that has existed previously in another time and place. Dance transmits and transforms via imitative, interpretive and experienced behaviours, in EVERYTHING HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE JUST NOT BY US we’re explicitly examining and embodying this tradition.
